Sponsored by the Department of Defense, the NDSEG supports the education of future scientists and engineers in a variety of disciplines. Approximately 200 new fellows were selected in 2008. Each Fellow will receive a full tuition grant and a stipend of $30,500 for three years.

2006-2008 NOAA Hollings Scholar, Nick plans to pursue graduate work in the areas of severe storms and mesoscale meteorological phenomena. He was supported in his studies and his application by Ron Isaac (Geography), Dorothy Sack (Geography) and David Stensrud from the National Severe Storms Laboratory in Norman, OK (where Nick had a summer internship).
