Fulbright Applicants at an All-Time High
Ohio University would like to congratulate the record number of students who submitted applications for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program this fall. Twenty-one applicants proposed to conduct research, teach English or complete creative projects during the 2004-2005 academic year in one of sixteen countries on five continents.
Over seventy-five faculty members supported these outstanding students by serving as mentors, writing letters of recommendation, providing foreign language evaluations and participating in campus interviews. This generous level of faculty support made a tremendous difference for the applicants and has already benefited them in important ways.
Patience will be a virtue as they await the results. Finalists will be announced in late January or early February and will receive the final news sometime between March and June.
Outstanding students interested in learning more about the program or applying in next year's competition are welcome to visit the Fulbright website at http://www.iie.org/FulbrightTemplate.cfm?Section=U_S__Student_Program or to contact Ohio University's Fulbright program advisor, Beth Clodfelter, at clodfele@ohio.edu or 593-2302.
