Our office can provide you with information on awards individually targeted towards specific majors. Whether you are an undergraduate or graduate student, and whether you are interested in psychology, politics, math, the sciences, travel, or the arts, there are awards that might fit you. Andrew W. Mellon Fellowship in Humanistic Studies
For support during first year of doctoral studies in the humanities
• $17,500 stipend, plus full tuition and fees
• Apply as a senior or after graduation
• Selection Criteria: Strong academic performance, U.S. citizen or permanent resident, applicant to a Ph.D. program in an eligible field

Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Junior Fellows Program
For students interested in careers in international affairs
• Provides a substantive one-year working experience at CEIP, a think tank in Washington D.C., working on such issues as nonproliferation, trade equity, Southeast Asia security, U.S. role in the world, etc.

Goldwater Scholarship
For students interested in careers in science, math or engineering, with a research emphasis
• $7,500 award

• Selection Criteria: Strong academic performance; articulated interest in career in science or math; strong research component

Truman Scholarship
For students interested in careers in public service
• $26,000 award ($2,000 for senior year, $24,000 for graduate or professional school)

• Selection Criteria: Academic performance; demonstrated public service; demonstrated leadership; well articulated interest in career in public service

Udall Scholarship
For students interested in careers in support of the environment
• $5,000 award
• Apply as a sophomore or junior
• Selection Criteria: Academic performance; demonstrated commitment to the environment; public service; demonstrated leadership; well articulated interest in career in an environmental field.

National Security Education Program Scholarship
• Provides scholarships to U.S. undergraduate students for study abroad in world areas critical to U.S. National Security.
• Recipients incur an obligation to work either for an office or agency of the Federal Government involved in national security affairs or in higher education.
